I know it is just November. We are still harvesting, and we still have corn mazes, pumpkins and Thanksgiving to deal with.
As we in the HCFB are surrounded by plenty, it is easy to forget that there are parts of our community where there are those who do not have enough to eat. That is why it is so important that we support our Great Lisbon FARMERS FEED THE HUNGRY Christmas Parade; by supporting the parade, we are raising money for the Howard and Carroll County Food Banks. Did you know that our parade is the second largest donor to the Carroll County Food Bank?
The Parade also supports Farmers & Hunters Feeding the Hungry, which underwrites the cost of processing of donated game so that it can then go to our food banks. We also set aside a little bit for the Lisbon Volunteer Fire Department, one of the last remaining volunteer units, so much a part of our ag community.
How can you help?
1) SPONSOR! Our list of community sponsors just keeps on growing – and that growth enables us to give more money each year to our Food Banks, FHFH and LVFD.
2) BE IN THE PARADE! With your tractor, your combine – or your horse or your mule. Pull a wagon or a float – just be sure to decorate it for Christmas!
Each year, the parade just gets better and better, as we figure out the formula and make small improvements. This year, the parade will begin at noon with the tractors, followed by the saddle and carriage/wagon horses.

Last year, we raised close to $15,000. We hope, with your help, to beat that this year!
